Loyalist Week Celebrations
May 14th & 18th

We invite all our members and friends to remember the arrival in this city of the American Loyalist refugees 234 years ago. As per usual, we will be holding events on two days: May 18th (Loyalist Day) and May 14th (the Sunday beforehand). We hope to see you all come out!

May 14th (Loyalist Sunday):

Trinity Church on Germain Street will be welcoming us again this year for their Sunday morning worship. The service begins at 10:30 am, but we ask our members to arrive at 10:15 so we can form up and proceed in together. Period dress is encouraged!

Afterwards, the New Brunswick Historical Society will be hosting a reception down the street at Loyalist House. This will be from 12:00 - 2:00 and all are welcomed.

May 18th (Loyalist Day):

Our ceremony at Market Square (10:00 am) will feature St. Mary's Band, the Delancey's Brigade, and various dignitaries and elected officials. The City of Saint John's official birthday cake will be on hand and will be shared with those in attendance following the ceremony.

At 12:00 noon the guns of the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment (The Loyal Company) will fire their customary 21-gun salute. The New Brunswick Museum will also be open free of admission courtesy of International Museums Day.
